" T'is I "

‘Tis I oh’ damsel fair and far, Ophelia!

I see nymphs on the horizon!

Garbed in veils of misty blue fantasia,

Mirages dancing on the ocean.’

Haunting, beckoning knight Cyrano,

On his steed PC, he did arrive.

In flashing, shining, silver armor.

His banner flaring blue, red and white.

‘Tis I, the Cyrano’, he shouted at the gates,

‘Lower the bridge, open the portal!

I come in peace to see Ophelia’, so he states.

‘No ghost I am but mortal.’

Smiling, Lady Ophelia lowered her loom,

On which she wove her soulish dream,

With pounding heart she left her lofty room,

To make her presence known to him.

The bridge was lowered, the portal opened wide,

A fanfare resounded through the land,

Ophelia expecting Cyrano to enter with might,

Dismounting his steed, kissing her hand.

She beheld the yawning, empty frame of the gate,

Star dust covering the trail beyond,

Cyrano was gone, she had arrived too late,

Leaving behind an unsung song.

What fate the Nornes had spun for them to bear?

For Cyrano, the minstrel and knight,

For Lady Ophelia, the wench so lonely and fair,

Alas, the dream she embraces tight.

Back to her dark blue loom she returned with a smile,

Adding colors of silver and gold,

Studding it with gems, patterns burning bright,

For Cyrano’s eyes soon to behold.
