" Hues of Blues "

Hues of Blues in this bright morning sun,

A song like a thought, remaining unsung.

Half steps up the scale, a last breath,

Fading softly, tremolo, then death.

Leaving a surprise ending, out of tune

For those who listened in the room.

Hues of Blue, from sharp to flat,

A melody, familiar, easy to forget.

An attempt of exuberance, fading out,

Overshadowed by a blue, blue cloud.

The rhythm, driving, the song remains

Cruelly leading through the measure’s ends.

Hues of Blue, woven in an unsung song

Dampening ecstasy, the triumph gone.

Expectancy mocked but somehow natural

Like spring with the promise of fall,

There is wisdom in those Hues of Blue

Unsung songs by me, by you.
